Perhaps one of Nintendo's most loved and least updated franchises is back after more than 20 years off the shelves. And now it's in 3-D.

And guess what? It's packed inside a box! That's a good indication that there's more to this little video game than a mere cartridge. Things like special edition AR cards and a 3DS stand. But we'll see that when we unpack it. Here's a look at what's inside.
In this episode of It's Unboxed we take a look at the packaging behind Nike's latest fitness gadget, the Nike+ FuelBand.

Part game, part gadget and designed with the aspiring athlete in mind, the FuelBand tracks daily activity (steps, motion, calories burned and something called Nike Fuel) and graphs it out in real-time through the magic of an iPhone app. Released in late February, this little device has been somewhat tricky to get. Luckily It's Unboxed studios aren't too far away from Niketown NYC, which has been releasing a limited number of FuelBand's each morning when it opens shop. We found both the packaging, and the manufactured scarcity to be quite Apple-like in nature. As for the device itself, it's pretty sleek and easy to use once you navigate through Nike's setup process.

But all of that is secondary for us. What we really want to know is what's in the box. Here's a look.
We were a bit hesitant to bring this classic It's Unboxed episode to light, but it nonetheless remains among the top performing unboxing videos we filmed. You'll see our mistake as we discuss the product we unbox.

Here's the gist of it:

Watch as It's Unboxed uncovers "Family Guy: The Total World Domination Collection," a boxed-set exclusive from Amazon.com. Contained within this life-sized (football-sized?) Stewie Griffin head are 22 DVDs, including the first seven seasons of "Family Guy," "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story," and "Blue Harvest."Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02159900319452125936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9749549050809940.post-51879011347488314082012-02-02T14:45:00.000-08:002012-02-02T14:45:53.181-08:00Unboxing: Transformers Smokescreen
Back in the day, Transformers was a thing. And then Michael Bay and Shia LaBeouf (where's the beef?) came along and made Transformers a thing again.

Anythehoo... back in the day when It's Unboxed was just starting to become a thing, Langley went and bought a Transformers action figure. Was it indeed more than meets the eye? Watch and find out.
In this classic episode of It's Unboxed, Langley is forced to compete with the sounds of a dump truck to get his message across. What is the message, you ask? The message is that he has something he'd like to remove from its packaging.

That is, ignore the background noise and enjoy this look at a box full of brand new pots and pans.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. . .

Oh. Wait a second. Wrong sci-fi.

Regardless, this unboxing video is another blast from the past, as Langley takes a look at a mysterious toy from the Star Trek universe. What could it be? Kirk? Spock? The Enterprise? KHAAAAN!?!?!?

There is only one way to find out.
In honor of the Queen of Southern Cuisine (or is that the Queen of Deep-Fried Cuisine?), the peerless Ms. Paula Deen, who recently came out with the unfortunate news that she, like many Americans suffers Type 2 diabetes, we here at It's Unboxed have reached into our most recent archives for this gem of a crispy unboxing video. Because if it ain't fried, it ain't right. Or something like that.

For the sake of all foods greasy, the It's Unboxed brain trust made a decision. That decision was to buy a deep fryer and see what it can do. But before we could deep fry everything, obviously, we have to unbox everything. That brings us back to the above video.

What you're witnessing here is the unboxing -- and subsequent use -- of an official Euro Pro deep fryer. It has but one mission, and it does it well. See for yourself.
In this classic episode of It's Unboxed, Langley receives a package from Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse! View Askew, the home of Jay & Silent Bob (and pretty much anything Kevin Smith has ever done), was having a sale. Naturally, the only thing to do was buy some memorabilia. What did Langley get, you ask? We answer that fantastic question in the above video.
Among 2008's hottest holiday gifts is this, Nintendo's Wii Fit, the video game that is not a video game, but rather a fitness program disguised as a game.

Sure, Xbox now has Kinect and Sony has that strange ice cream cone controller thingy called, of all things, "Move." But it was Nintendo that really revolutionized the idea of full-body motion gaming that challenged players to get out of their seats. The balance board included with Wii Fit was yet another step in that direction.

So let's go for a stroll in Retroland and take a look at this box's innards, shall we?
Spies have all the coolest gadgets. Secret agents like James Bond, Inspector Gadget and Ethan Hunt stand out for their gear as much as their unmistakable style. So, naturally, we at It's Unboxed wanted too see what all the fuss is about. However, after a visit to the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C., all we came up with was this odd little box promising an "Undercover Listening Device." Here's what we found inside.
Just how good is a fresh can of Planters Mixed Nuts? Only Mr. Peanut might know. That is, at least until It's Unboxed went and opened up a can of Planters goodness. Here's what we found inside.
Check out this 25th Anniversary GI Joe COBRA Legions box set with It's Unboxed, as Matt takes apart a package of action figures that probably wasn't meant to be taken apart. But how do these COBRA knockoffs stand up against their 80s counterparts? Let's see, shall we?

Then, while the site was on hiatus between hosting services, there was a minor disaster: A hard drive was lost (and the computer it belonged to died). That was the unintended end of It's Unboxed as a self-hosted WordPress blog.

Now, don't go calling this a comeback, but, well, It's Unboxed is coming back! Sort of.

For now, we plan to deploy all the old videos we recorded between 2008 and 2011 on this, the new It's Unboxed (thanks, Blogger). From there, who knows. More self-produced and poorly edited unboxing videos, perhaps?

So here goes something.
